World Cup fans relying on YouTube TV to watch theWednesday were understandably upset when the streaming service suddenly went down.
YouTube TV sent out a tweet Wednesday afternoon saying: “Hey everyone — sincere apologies for streaming issues with YouTube TV. The timing is horrible but we’re working to be up and running again ASAP!”
Soccer fans on Twitter shared their frustration. “Bad time for YouTube TV to go down,” wrote one user. “It had better be working by the time the second half starts!”
Downdetector provided a map of the outage showing it was limited to the US.
The outage inspired some GIFs depicting people’s frustration. “When @YouTubeTV crashes during the #WorldCup semi-final…” one person tweeted.
Less than an hour later, YouTube TV tweeted that the service was up and running again.
Unfortunately, fans missed Croatia’s tying goal in the second half of the game. On the bright side, though, the streaming service came back for viewers to catch extra time.
