Harmonies don’t come much more wonderfully chilling than this.
On Sunday, to celebrate American composer Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday, a whole host of actors and broadway stars took part in a feature length show that was broadcast live on YouTube.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford, who star together in the Sondheim musical Sunday in the Park with George, popped up towards the end to sing “Move On” — and you had better believe the singing is on point.
The revival of the show, which follows a fictionalised version of painter Georges Seurat, was meant to open in London’s Savoy Theatre in June, but has been put on hold due to the coronavirus.

Yep, Jake Gyllenhaal has actual tears in his eyes at the end. Now that is acting.
Oh, and if you’re after a change of pace, Meryl Streep’s booze-fulled version of “The Ladies Who Lunch” from Company is also well worth checking out.
